Speedway Race Park Go Cart Racing

Calling All Rodders,
55 Years in operation, this family owned business has giving plenty of people young or old the opportunity to race.  This is a 1/8 mile dirt track where drivers as young a 5 or as old as 75 can find the thrill of speed.  A great family event and an enjoyable way to spend the evening.  As, we drive past this track on a weekly basis we decided to make sure we took the time to come out and check it out. The racing runs on the ist and 3rd sat of the month.  Pit passes are a whopping $7.00 and spectators fees are $3.00.  They started at 4:00pm and run until about 9 pm.  Watching the groups line up and come out and show their stuff was fun.  The rookies some as little as 5-6-7 years of age. Then the age groups and types of cars go up from there.  Each group put on quite a show.  A very full evening. Located in Fruitland Park on Micro Race Track Rd, and County Road 466A, Florida.  They have these parks all over the USA and its a great way to get the kids interested in racing.  Search of your area and find out where you can watch Go Cart Racing, take the family it's fun! See ya at the next car event!

Billetproof show

Calling All Rodders,
Where do I begin, I took 167 pictures at this show!  How do I pick six or seven to show you??? Whoo What a show.  The sun filled area is packed FULL of cars, pin up girls, pinstripers, vendors, and car enthusiast's! It's awesome.  Cars from every state it seems, And the custom work is unbelievable. I only wish I could add all the photos.  Don Garlit's Museum in Ocala Florida was the host of today's show.  Free to spectators and I believe about $35.00 for reg participants.  If you get a chance to go to this show in the future I promise you won't be disappointed.  I have added a few of the pictures to our facebook page for Calling All Rodders

Tractor show

Calling All Rodders,
Today we went of the beaten path a bit and attended a tractor show.
This was quite interesting and I am amazed at the amount of time and money put into tractors.  Although, I shouldn't be as I have seen what we streetrodders do and spend on our hobby.  They also had vendors and tractor pulls, antique and new , modified and plain.  The local tractor clubs came out to participate in the show and show off their stuff.

Lots of collectibles around the grounds, great BBQ's the air smelled fantastic.
The buildings were filled with collected tractors from the early days as well as the newest.

Signs from days past were everywhere.  The pickers have not found these people yet as they seemed to be abundant.  Sure does bring back memories of days gone by.

Tire Kingdom Gatornationals 2012

Calling All Rodders,
Today we headed up to Gainseville Raceway, to attend the Gator Nationals.  The weather was a bit iffy but we took a chance and went anyways.  What a great experience.  Drag racing is awesome because you can get up close and personal with the teams drivers and cars.  Autographs and conversations are as close as your hand. The smell of nitro is in the air, the noise is deafen, but it is soooo cool!  Today was qualifying for the big show on Sunday.  They bring in Pro stock motorcycles,  and Pro-stock cars and Funny cars and Top fuelers, and the speeds these guys are going is unbelievable.
The Raceway is also filled with vendors. Parts galore are at your disposal.    Today the highlight of our day was John Force and Robert Hights and Bid Daddy Don.  And the burning of our eyes when the started up John Force's car at the trailer!!  As the air was filled with Nitro. That's how close you are to the action.   The weather held out and we got most of the day in before the rain came.  It was a good day!

Streetrod Golf carts!

Calling All Rodders,

Today we wondered over to The Villages in Florida.  There we found a Streetrod Golf Cart Show going on.  These are some priceless creations.  It seems even as we get older there is no stopping the car lover from enjoying a good car show.  In this retirement community the main form of transportation is the golf cart.  They have taken this golf cart riding to a new level and created a great streetrod club.  Hope you enjoy this photos.  It was a balmy 88 degrees and the music played in the part in the background a great way to spend an evening in Florida.
