Calling All Rodders,
Another great night In Erie, PA. The weather was perfect for the Backyard Burger Cruise In. They are held most Friday nights. There was plenty of spectators and cars for everyone to see.
Music filled the air as you walked around and saw all the cars, and reminisced with friends. Food coupons were handed out as you came in, the burgers are GREAT here also. Make sure you make it inside to have one. They do a nice job for this show so if you don't have anything to do on Friday night, jump in your car and ride down to Backyard Burger and join in the fun.
See ya There!!

Buggin State Street
Calling All Rodders,
Well, it was a successful night for the first Buggin State of the season. Cars lined both sides of the street from 4th to 14th street on State Street in Erie, PA. If you haven't experience this cruise in, you need to.
Back in the day it was the thing to do on the weekend's you would get in your cars and cruise up and down state street. It was a great meeting place, and a time to show off what you had in your car. From paint jobs to engines. Guys and Gals alike cruise the strip.
Well, the car enthusiasts of Erie are trying to restore the nostalgic times with a summer Buggin State Street schedule. One a month or so in the summer they have us all bring our cars down and reminisce about those fun days in the 50's and 60's. A lot of people from your past show up and you end up reliving those ole days of fun. People you haven't seen in years seems to find up down there.
Cars for sale, parts found, engine questions answered all for the asking. A lot of people with a lot of answers to your car problems.
In the park they have music, and souvenir sales, food, the local restaurants were full with hungry cruisers. It's a great family fun night. So put on your walking shoes and come down and join us for the next Buggin State Street, you won't be diappointed if you like cars. You name it it seems to be here.
Happy Cruisin!!

Cruise the Bay
Calling All Rodders,
Another great night at the Bay. Cars lined up the Park n Ride to capacity again. I even talk to a few people who were there for the first time and said, "WOW I didn't know they did this every Monday this is great!" They didn't realize Erie had so many car collectors.
We did have a problem with burn outs, The port authority is watching and has requested that we stop the burn outs or they will have to shut it down. An announcement was made but, they are a few who didn't listen. We really need to get this under control because we want to be able to enjoy this cruise in. It is a great location, The Lake Erie Classics do a great job at organizing this event and we owe it to them to follow the rules.
See ya at the next cruise!!

Erie Area Car Owners Fill Shows!!
Calling All Rodders,
Well there was plenty to do this weekend in the Erie area. Here are just few....
Friday night they had the Backyard Burger Cruise In, and from the reports I got it was a big success. There was good food and plenty of cars to see. Cruisers are looking forward to this every Friday night event. There will NOT be a Backyard Burger Cruise In on the Buggin State Street Friday Nights, so we won't have to chose between the two events.
Saturday, the Vietnam Vets of America Chapter 435 held their 5th Car Show at the Soldiers and Sailors home at East 3rd & Ash Streets in Erie, from 12- 3 pm with a Picnic Lunch. This is always a nice show to attend. The Vets at the home enjoy it as well with many old stories of old cars floating among the guests. ERIEZ Speedway Drivers also are there for a meet and greet.
Sunday, Historic Waterford had the 33rd Annual Antique Auto Show Presented by Presque Isle Region AACA. It was a beautiful setting for this show all cars 1927 or older were treated with free registration. 1983 and older cars of all classes were also welcome. The had a nice turn out and they put on a nice show every year in June with free spectator admission, door prizes, food.
In Harborcreek, there was the Dave Layton Memorial Cruise In held at the Municipal Building on Buffalo Rd. Again the attendance was great. This shows donations benefit the Make a Wish Foundation.
Rex and I try to attend as many of the car events as we can find the time to get to. We of course can't get to them all. I only write about the ones that people report to me about or that we have attended personally. If any of you would like to add your comments to the blog about shows you have attended please feel free to do so. Although,I do ask that you limit your comments to positive feed back only. Groups and Organizations work hard on this events, we want to promote fellowship and fun at these events so that other car enthusiasts from all over enjoy
our tri -state area events as well.
See ya at the next car event!!!

What a beautiful night!!
Calling All Rodders,
If you made it to the bayfront on Monday for the park n ride gathering, you were lucky.
What a great night to be on the bay. The weather was beautiful and the cars were plentiful..
Monday was one of the biggest shows, they were lined up all over the park n ride. It was great to see all our old friends and car buddies. It is a great place to catch up on the winter goings on and the new projects started for this year.
A lot a talk about gas prices , but it seems everyone still wants to get around to as many shows and gatherings as they can this summer.
Erie area car events are multiplying each year. It is nice to see the community and car enthusiasts support these functions and continue to grow. Keep up the good work. The people that organize these functions put in alot of time and work to put them on, and they do it for you ,the car enthusiast so keep up the good work in participating and supporting the causes that they help support.

Mopars,Mopars, and more Mopars.
Calling All Rodders,
Today was the Lake Erie Tri State Mopar show and swap meet in Albion, Pa. They had beautiful weather and that brought out many mopar owners. The last couple of years they have had to deal with rainy weather and this was a great change for them.
The Albion Fairgrounds were covered in all makes and models of Mopars. They also had many venders and parts people. There were dash plaques and goodie bags to the first 200 cars, and there were well over that number of cars at todays event.
If you have not had a chance to see this event and are a mopar fan you owe to yourself to make sure you get there next year. This was their 23rd year putting on the show and they have it down to a fine art. It is a well run show with trophies and prizes galore, fellowship and fun was had by all.
Mark your calanders to join in the event for next year.
